The 4 km (2.5 mile) route starts at the Sonderegger Science Center on the Edgewood College Campus, winds through Vilas Park and along the shore of Lake Wingra, to end back at the Sonderegger Science Center. Scroll down to see a map of the route.
This event raises awareness and funds to support the Ceiba Foundation and Save the Rainforest, two Wisconsin-based non-profit organizations dedicated to preventing the loss of tropical forests that are critical to protecting biodiversity and global climate.
After completing the form, you will receive an email confimation of your registration. Save this email to present at check-in for the event at the Sondregger Science Center on the Edgewood College campus in Madison, WI.

Your pre-registration helps us plan for the right number of people, so thank you! However, it is also possible to register on the day of the event (April 20, 2024) at the check-in table beginning at 1:00 pm. A limited supply of t-shirts may be available for purchase at the event.
Registration donation is non-refundable. The event will proceed rain or shine, however, if the event must be cancelled due to dangerous weather, you will be notified by email by 10:00 a.m. on the day of the event, and it will be rescheduled. If the rescheduled event must be cancelled again due to inclement weather, you may request a refund and that your t-shirt be mailed.
Ceiba Foundation for Tropical Conservation and Save the Rainforest are 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. Your donations are tax-deductible as allowable by law.
Please leave your dog at home; even if your dog is well behaved around other dogs, others might not be. No bikes on this event either, however wheel chairs, walkers, and other mobility aids are welcome!
Please bring your own water. There is no refill station at the start or end point, however Vilas Park has water fountains and there are restrooms at the entrance of Henry Vilas Zoo if you need to stop along the route.
Running and walking are not without risks. The route uses sidewalks, paved paths, and roads. Orange signs will be posted to guide you. Please be aware of your safety and surroundings at all times, and be careful at crosswalks and intersections! Participants assume all risk of participating in this event, and will not hold the organizers liable for injury or accident incurred before, during or after this event as a result of your participation.
